Local Unit & Position Description: The Renewables Advisory business within DNV Energy Systems provides independent renewable energy advice and is at the forefront of the offshore/ onshore wind, solar and storage sectors. Our team of dedicated experts are present in all major and emerging global markets for renewable energy.

As our ambition is to grow our business, we are seeking a Renewables Advisory Consultant to strengthen the team in Bristol. Alternatively, this position can be based in Dublin, Glasgow or London.

While the role would be focused on the UK and Ireland market, you would be involved in projects in broader geographic regions and with mixed technologies (e.g. onshore/ offshore wind, solar, storage, transmission assets).

Your primary focus will be on our key customers within the onshore and offshore wind market, within a broader advisory team of experts across wind solar and storage technologies. Typical services will be linked to the feasibility, development, construction, and operation phases of wind farm projects, including due diligence, and general technical advisory.

The role is technical, and you will be undertaking a technical, project management, commercial and customer-facing role. The projects will require the management of complex interconnected commercial and technical aspects, using resources from multiple internal business units, alongside the management of customer interfaces, to deliver to our customers’ expectations.

Periodic travel should be expected concerning the project management and delivery responsibilities and to support an active presence with our customers for sales activities.

Key responsibilities include: *

  • Deliver consultancy and due diligence technical work and projects of both single and mixed technology.
  • Support with technical analysis and knowledge.
  • Work closely as part of the team to deliver due diligence projects, including reviewing documentation relating to wind conditions, turbine suitability, operational performance, ground conditions, consents/ planning, contracts, technical-economic factors and the allocation of risk to relevant parties.
  • Working with guidance from other consultants, contribute to opportunities and proposals.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the business through the development of tools and processes as well as business development.
  • Shares information and professional knowledge with colleagues.
  • Cares for the customer and seeks to provide solutions that improve their business.
  • Undertake periodic site visits and inspections.
  • Any other appropriate duties as directed by line management.

Position Qualifications: To qualify for this position, we need you to have:

  • An appropriate degree/ higher degree in an engineering subject.
  • Experience in the renewables industry in a technical consulting capacity.
  • Proven ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English.
