Help us create a better future, quicker
Deliver planned inspection programme of overhead line network (OHL) from LV to 33KV in accordance with the annual OHL inspection programme. (Poles / Towers)
What you’ll be doing
Contribute as an effective member of the Maintenance dept to help deliver the business plan.
Visual inspection of assets, and surrounding environment, to ensure system integrity.
Download and use AIS system to ensure defects are correctly reported.
Report “i” (immediate) defects are reported to Troublecall.
Provide customer contact for access arrangements or queries in order to minimise complaints.
Actively identify work priorities and forward plan to ensure most efficient working practice delivers the business plan.
Pre-vet jobs including risk assessments and liaison with landowners.
Strive to eliminate customer complaints as an on-site representative of the company.
What you’ll bring
Full driving licence
Ability to use handheld tablet to complete inspections
Ability to work flexibly and on own at times across the Distribution area.
Ability to use online maps to ensure work is completed in most efficient manner
Ability to carry out physical tests of pole condition and gauge approximate useful life term.
Use of test equipment
Undertake risk assessments and understand appropriate next steps.
Minimum Criteria
Current valid UK Driving Licence.
Computer Literacy skills
Good Communication
Ability to inspect, determine risk and provide a solution.
Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Required to walk up to 10 miles a day across all terrains (Suitable PPE will be provided).
Must be able to prove suitable fitness
