Role overview
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the post-holder will support RenewableUK’s key event sales campaigns by identifying new opportunities, building industry relationships, and supporting the team to hit key commercial targets set by the Commercial Director.
Role and responsibilities
A key responsibility of this role is driving exhibition sales and supporting sponsorship efforts, while serving as the primary point of contact for the commercial delivery across RenewableUK’s event programme. The position also plays a key role in representing the association at industry events, strengthening its visibility, cultivating new relationships, and accelerating growth as the UK’s leading trade association for renewable energy.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
- Growing exhibition and sales pipeline, handling leads and creating new opportunities to close sales
- Support in processing exhibition, sponsorship & subscription contracts
- Working with the events team to ensure a full understanding of and delivery of exhibition and sponsorship contractual obligations, ensuring these are consistently followed and delivered
- Support group delegate bookings for events
- Attending annual events and managing relationships with members and industry stakeholders
- Create and maintain sales brochures and materials where needed by the team
- Advising and communicating with senior stakeholders in a professional manner
- Supporting the commercial team with the administration and CRM data input for analysing and developing event, EnergyPulse & membership sales pipeline
- Working with the Head of Commercial & Head of Membership in attracting new members and delivering member satisfaction, and supporting wider commercial or member initiatives.

- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Ability to take responsibility, use initiative to prioritise and work effectively to tight deadlines
- First class networking & interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Proven listening, negotiating and influencing skills
- Experience of working in a busy office environment
- Educated to Graduate Level or demonstrate equivalent professional experience
- Professional attitude and ability to represent the organisation to wider industry, including senior industry figures
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools particularly Outlook, Access, Excel & Word
