Location: London
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE)

A growing environmental consultancy is seeking an Associate Air Quality Consultant to lead the development of its in-house air quality capability. With services currently outsourced, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a key discipline, raise technical standards, and build a team from the ground up.

This hire will play a central role in establishing a long-term air quality service line in London, with full backing from an established business. It's ideal for an entrepreneurial consultant who wants real influence over growth, delivery, and direction.

The Role

You will lead the delivery and expansion of air quality services across a varied project portfolio while transitioning work back in-house. The role offers genuine progression and the opportunity to shape how the function evolves.

Projects include:

Wind energy developments

Planning and development schemes

Residential housing

Battery energy storage (BESS)

Employment and industrial facilities

Key Responsibilities

Lead air quality projects from inception to completion

Maintain and improve technical quality and consistency

Bring outsourced work back in-house

Support business development and client growth

Build and mentor a growing team

Act as technical lead for clients and internal stakeholders

About You

Proven experience in air quality consultancy

Strong project delivery and client-facing skills

Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset

Motivated to build and lead a team long-term

Interested in shaping a growing service line

This role would also suit an independent consultant looking to join a larger, more stable platform with resources and progression.
