Description

Job Description

We're 20,000 colleagues in more than 30 countries delivering oil, gas, wind and solar power to 170 million people worldwide. Taking on tough energy challenges is our job. Right now, we're facing an enormous task: supplying the world with the energy it needs, while lowering emissions.

We're up for the challenge. Are you?

The position

By joining our team in Renewables you will have the opportunity to:
  • Participate in transmission system and automation design reviews, technical clarifications, acceptance tests, system walkdowns and handovers as the O&M representative for ensuring safe and efficient design for operational use
  • Define and plan maintenance and inspection strategies and lead relevant O&M contract preparations and tenders
  • Be responsible for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the HVDC transmission assets and substation automation systems, including day-to-day interface with OFTO and management of transmission contractors
  • Review loss of availability from transmission system and performance of substation automation systems, provide analysis and collaborate to recommend improvements to asset and maintenance
  • Ensure high quality maintenance and safety information is captured and processed in corporate systems in line with management system processes
  • Prepared to be part of an on-call rotation for the windfarms

By joining our team, you will be part of the journey of the transmission and substation automation systems from final design through construction, handover and into operations – being ultimately responsible for the long-term operations.

You

Some qualities are essential for Equinor. You identify with our values, open, collaborative, courageous and caring, which guide our decisions and help us succeed and grow. You make safety your priority and contribute to our zero-harm culture. For this position, we are also looking for:

  • Technical, operational and maintenance experience in transmission/distribution systems and substation automation
  • Strong collaboration skills and creative approach to problem solving
  • Proactive and open minded to furthering knowledge and experience base.
  • Be or become authorised as a Senior Authorised Person
  • Prepared to do short term business travels offshore (and undertake required medical and safety training to do so), domestically and internationally if required
  • Fluent English oral and writing
  • Degree or HND in electrical/electronic engineering or similar

Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm, the world’s largest offshore windfarm, is currently under construction and scheduled for start power generation in 2023. The wind farm is located some 100-150 nautical miles from South Shields, covering a total area of over 1500km2. A brand new O&M Base is being constructed at Port of Tyne, alongside Equinor’s new flagship UK Central Control Room and technical competence centre for engineering support.

Equinor is the manager for Dogger Bank during the operations phase. For its O&M organisation at the Port of Tyne we are seeking to expand our team with one electrical resource, responsible for the operation and maintenance of the transmission assets.

We are seeking a candidate with long term commitment to play a key role in ensuring continuity of knowledge from construction and operational setup into operations. Due to the high level of daily interaction and collaboration this role entails, the candidate will need to live in (or relocate to) the local area.

General information

Please attach copies of your diplomas, certificates and grades in English or a Scandinavian language. Applications submitted without necessary attachments will unfortunately not be evaluated. If you are in the process of completing a degree, please upload an official temporary transcript or other document describing subjects and grades completed to this point.

Candidates are expected to openly offer all relevant information about themselves during the recruitment process. All permanent and temporary hires will be screened against relevant sanctions lists to ensure compliance with sanctions law
